First Love Movement

Our Story

From personal calling to community transformation

First Love Movement was founded on lived experience — and a belief that ordinary people, with enough commitment, can do extraordinary things.

Co-Founder

Nataly Schenker

Nataly grew up in Ecuador, shaped by a deep awareness of the gap between need and resource that exists in so many communities. Her background in business and marketing gave her the tools to build sustainable organizations — and her personal faith gave her the motivation to use those tools in service of others.

She has been instrumental in developing First Love Movement's strategic partnerships, donor relationships, and the operational infrastructure that allows programs to function at scale. Her approach is practical and relational: she believes that sustainable community transformation requires both passionate vision and structured execution.

In addition to her work with FLM, Nataly helps lead a support group for families navigating the challenges of raising children in today's digital environment — a ministry that directly inspired the development of the GuardianShield family protection platform.

Co-Founder

Tim Schenker

Tim brings over 20 years of experience in ministry, music, theater, and marketing. He has worked with communities across the United States and internationally — leading programs in creative arts, mentorship, and community development.

His background in digital marketing and technology led him to identify a critical gap: parents were deeply worried about the digital risks facing their children, but lacked both the tools and the language to address them effectively. That insight became the foundation for GuardianShield.

Tim oversees First Love Movement's creative programs, digital initiatives, and the ongoing development of resources for parents navigating online safety. He believes that creativity is one of the most powerful tools for healing and community building — and that technology, used wisely, can amplify that work.

How It Started

From Strasburg, Ohio to communities around the world

First Love Movement began with a simple conviction: that love, practically expressed, can change lives. What started as local community work in Ohio — mentoring, arts programs, practical assistance for families in need — grew into something larger as opportunities arose to serve internationally.

Medical brigades brought the FLM team to underserved communities in Latin America, where they partnered with local leaders and organizations to deliver primary care to people who would otherwise go without. Creative arts programs expanded into juvenile facilities, transition homes, and community centers. The after-school arts program grew to serve 90+ children weekly.

Then, as the digital landscape began to shift rapidly — AI companion apps, social media algorithms, graphic content at children's fingertips — Nataly and Tim recognized a new and urgent need in the families they were already serving. The result was GuardianShield: a tool built not by tech-industry insiders, but by people who had spent decades walking alongside families and understood what parents actually needed.
